Janome makes the word “standard” look simpler than it is.
The common Janome Standard Bobbin covers a very large range of sewing and embroidery machines, and that broad compatibility is genuinely useful. It still has exceptions. Janome separately documents metal bobbins for particular 1600P and MB-series machines, while documented Quilt Maker longarm models use an M-class bobbin system and associated bobbin case.
So a search for a Janome bobbin can have three very different answers before needles, presser feet or hoops even enter the conversation.
SewFitGuide keeps those systems separate. The database contains domestic mechanical machines, computerized sewing machines, embroidery machines and longarm models. Janome's own support material also spans current and retired machines, which makes the brand particularly suitable for a model-based reference site. People do not stop needing a bobbin or presser foot because the machine disappeared from this year's catalogue.

A Janome model page is intended to become the single technical reference point for that machine on SewFitGuide. Bobbin compatibility may be the first verified relationship, but the same page can later hold the correct bobbin case, needle information, presser-foot system, walking-foot compatibility, pedal, embroidery hoop and useful OEM part numbers when those facts are verified.
That avoids a familiar search problem where “Janome model X bobbin”, “Janome model X needles” and “Janome model X presser foot” become three mostly duplicated pages. The machine has not changed. Only the question has.
The Janome parts pages are useful when working in reverse. If a drawer contains a bobbin marked with a known Janome part number, or a manual identifies a specific bobbin system, the cross-reference shows published machines that use it.
