With JUKI industrial machines, the suffix is part of the model. Treating it as optional is a good way to order something almost correct.

The needle system does not automatically tell you the correct needle size, point, thread combination, bobbin, hook or presser foot. Those still depend on the machine and application.
That is particularly relevant for upholstery, leather, canvas and multilayer work. A user searching for JUKI DNU-1541 needles may eventually need a very different answer from someone asking which complete walking-foot assembly fits the machine.
