Machine details
SINGER 7424 sits in the CB Cosmo/Confidence accessory group and shares much of its service architecture with neighboring 742x, 744x and 746x computerized machines. The useful point is not that the models are "the same", but that SINGER's own service manual documents exactly where some of them differ. For the 7424, the service manual identifies switch-board component 87562. The closely related 7426 uses 87563, and SINGER explains that the 7424 board is the version with a jumper wire cut. That is a concrete repair distinction and a good warning against treating 7424 and 7426 electronic parts as interchangeable just because the housings and model numbers are close.
Compatibility context
Current SINGER documentation independently keeps the 7424 in the CB accessory group, supporting the existing Class 15J and presser-foot relationships. SINGER also lists genuine replacement foot control SKU 416436101 for the 7424.
