About this machine

The Baby Lock Solaris 2, model BLSA2, keeps the 10 5/8 x 16 inch maximum embroidery field while adding model-specific features such as Design Database Transfer and the IQ Intuition Monitoring App. Baby Lock lists 865 built-in embroidery designs, 32 fonts, four included hoops and a 1,050-stitch-per-minute embroidery speed.

Solaris 2 is BLSA2, not an upgraded BLSA label

Baby Lock publishes Solaris 2 as model BLSA2 with its own manuals and specification page. An original BLSA Solaris may have upgrade kits installed, but that does not change the physical model code into BLSA2.

The square hoop is useful, but it is not the maximum field

Baby Lock highlights both the 10 5/8 x 16 inch hoop and the 10 5/8 inch square hoop. The maximum embroidery field remains 10.6 x 16 inches.

Built-in content changed while the platform dimensions stayed familiar

Solaris 2 lists 865 built-in designs and 32 fonts. The original BLSA page lists 740 designs and 31 fonts. Those differences are better model identifiers than assuming the machines are interchangeable because the maximum embroidery field is the same.
